Women’s Golfers Finish Sixth at John Carroll Fall Invitational

HUDSON, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished sixth at the 2015 John Carroll University Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Hudson.

The Yellow Jackets finished in sixth of eight teams and fired a 380 on the first day and a 368 on the second for a two-day and 36-hole total of 748 strokes on the par-72 and 6,440-yard Country Club of Hudson. St. Francis (Ind.) University was the team champion with a total of 665 strokes.

Senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC player Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) led the Yellow Jackets individually with 36-hole totals of 173 strokes. Vidmar had rounds of 91 and a career-low 82. It marks the second straight week that Vidmar had a career-low round.

In addition, freshman Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) had 187 strokes with rounds of 94 and 93. Her 93 today tied her career-best. Freshman Erinn Maynard (New London) had 196 and rounds of 97 and 99. Senior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) had 199 and rounds of 98 and 101. Senior Shannon Stamper (Westlake/Rocky River) rounded out the team with a 206 and rounds of 112 and a career-low 94.

Playing as an individual in her first collegiate tournament, junior Kelsey Johnson (Carmel, Ind./ Park Tudor) carded rounds of 143 and 126 for a 36-hole total of 269 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets return to action this Sunday and Monday, September 27-28 when they travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania to play at the 2015 Allegheny College Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville.
