BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Joe Horvath played four years of men's tennis at Baldwin Wallace University. He earned four varsity letters and served as a team captain as a senior. He is one of the best to ever wear the Brown & Gold on the "Pop" Collins Courts.

Joe ended his career with a 97-11 singles and 89-18 doubles mark. His 97 singles wins, 89 doubles wins and 186 combination victories all rank second all-time to James Daly (2006-2009). He also was a four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference player who led BW to a 92-11 overall record, the 2012 OAC regular season and OAC Tournament titles and into the second round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. He was an OAC Player of the Week selections four times, including once as a freshman, once as a sophomore and twice as a senior.

As a freshman in 2009-2010, Joe played in his first season of tennis and earned his first varsity letter. He split time as the starter between the No.3, No.4 and No.5 singles positions and combined with fellow freshman Tyler Beaton as the No.3 doubles tandem. He earned the OAC Player of the Week honors on March 15. He had a 24-1 singles and 22-2 doubles mark as BW finished 19-4 overall. Joe was named second team All-OAC.

As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Joe played his second season of tennis and earned his second letter. He was the starter at No.2 singles and combined with Matt Lachman as the No.1 doubles tandem. He compiled a 21-5 singles mark and a 21-5 doubles slate. He was named second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference for the second straight season. BW finished 19-4 overall.

As a junior in 2011-12, Joe played his third season of tennis and earned his third letter. He played No.2 singles and combined with Tyler Beaton '13 (Bemus Point, N.Y.) at No.2 doubles. Joe earned OAC Player of the Week honors on March 12. He compiled a 27-2 singles and 24-6 doubles record and had a combined mark of 51-8 overall. Joe was a first-team All-OAC selection. B-W finished 29-1 overall, had a school-record 29 straight wins, won the OAC regular season and torunament titles and advanced to the second round of the 2012 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

As a senior in 2012-2013, Joe played his fourth season of tennis and eaned his fourth varsity letter. He was the No.1 singles player and combined with fellow senior Alex Kearney (North Olmsted) to form the No.3 doubles tandem. He compiled a 24-3 singles and 22-3 doubles mark, including a 19-0 record with Kearney. Joe also was named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week on April 1 and on April 29. He helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 23-1 overall record and place second in the OAC at 8-1.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Joe Horvath grew up in North Royalton, Ohio and graduated from North Royalton High School. He was a three-year varsity tennis player and lettered all three years.

Joe was a two-time team North Royalton H.S. Most Valuable Player, two-time All-Northeast Ohio Conference player, received NOC Player-of-the-Year honors twice and was a two-time District qualifier.

Academically, Joe was a Merit Roll student.
