BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Alex Kearney played three seasons of men's tennis at Baldwin Wallace University and earned three varsity letters (2010-2013). He played at the University of Mount Union in 2008-2009 and then had to sit out the 2009-2010 season due to transferring to BW.

ACADEMIC HONORS AT BW:   Alex carried a 3.5 grade point average and earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as a senior in 2012-2013.

ATHLETIC HONORS:   As a senior in 2012-2013, Alex earned honorable mention All-OAC honors.  He also was named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on March 19, 2013 after helping the Yellow Jacket men's tennis team to a 6-0 record during its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. 

GENERAL TENNIS INFORMATION:      Alex Kearney had an outstanding four-year collegiate tennis career that began at the University of Mount Union in 2008-2009 and ended at Baldwin Wallace University in 2012-2013.  During his four seasons of play, the two schools had a combined 94-12 record, including a 73-7 mark as a Yellow Jacket.

Alex was both an All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC player at BW as a senior and earned OAC Player of the Week honors once. Individually, Alex compiled an 85-15 career singles and 63-14 career doubles mark, including a 68-15 singles and 49-11 doubles slate as a Yellow Jacket.

As a freshman in 2008-2009, Alex played tennis at Mount Union College (now the University of Mount Union). He played No.6 singles and had a perfect 17-0 record and third in doubles with a 14-3 mark. The team finished 21-5 overall.

As a sophomore in 2009-2010, Alex sat out the season due to transferring from Mt. Union to Baldwin-Wallace. 

As a junior in 2010-2011, Alex played in his first season of tennis at B-W as its No.3 singles player and teams with senior Taylor Long '12 to form the No.3 doubles tandem for the majority of the season. In singles play, Alex compiled a record of 21-7.  In doubles play, Alex went 20-4 with Taylor Long, 2-1 with Josh Pecinovsky '14 and 1-2 with Alex Trzeciak '12 for a combined record of 23-7. The Yellow Jackets compiled a 21-5 overall record. 

As a senior in 2011-2012, Alex played his second season of tennis at B-W and third overall. Alex had a record 26-5 in singles play and 4-3 in doubles play for an overall record of 30-8. B-W  finished with a 29-1 overall record, won the season and tournament OAC titles, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.  

As a fifth-year senior in 2012-2013, Alex played in his fourth season of tennis at BW and earned third varsity letter.  He was named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on March 19, 2013 after helping the Yellow Jacket men's tennis team to a 6-0 record during its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. Alex had a 21-3 singles and 22-1 doubles record. He combined with senior teammate Joe Horvath '13, this year's OAC Player of the Year, for a 19-0 doubles slate. For his efforts both in the classroom and on the court, Alex earned honorable mention All-OAC and Academic All-OAC honors.  B-W  finished with a 23-1 overall record.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Alex Kearney grew up in North Olmsted, Ohio and graduated from North Olmsted High School.

He played four years of tennis and earned four varsity letters. He also ran four years of cross country and earned four letters.

In cross country as a junior and again as a senior, Alex was second-team All-Southwestern Conference. As a senior, he was also an individual and team regional qualifier. He was also an Elyria Chronicle-Telegram Runner of the Week.

In tennis, Alex was North Olmsted's all-time win leader with 92. As a freshman, he was honorable mention All-SWC at third singles. As a sophomore, he was first-team All-SWC for third singles and a Plain Dealer Player of the Week. As a junior, he was first-team All-SWC for third singles and a singles district qualifer. As a senior, he was second-team All-SWC at second singles, sectional doubles champion and a doubles state qualifer and a Chronicle-Telegram Player of the Week.

Academically, Alex was an honor roll student.
