BW Men’s Golfers Stand 15th at Wittenberg Fall Tourney

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team stands 15th today (Saturday, October 6, 2012) after the first day of the two-day and 36-hole Wittenberg University Rosecrans-Maurer Fall Invitational Tournament at the Springfield Country Club. This is the final fall event for the Yellow Jacket men during the non-traditional portion of their schedule. The final round is tomorrow.

BW carded a first round score of 324 strokes on the par-72 and 6,684-yard Springfield C.C. layout. Allegheny (Pa.) College leads after the first day with 298 strokes.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by junior Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) with a 74. He was followed by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) with an 81, sophomore Andy Ingram (Vermilion) with an 84, junior Chris Nader (Westlake) with an 85 and sophomore Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) with a 91.
