Five Women's Swimming and Diving Student Athletes Land on Academic All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Five Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Senior stroker Jordyn Miller (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), junior All-OAC stroker Sarah Krupp (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South), sophomore All-OAC diver/stroker Ellie Clymer (Independence), sophomore stroker Shari Gordnier (Centerville/Dayton Regional Stem) and sophomore stroker Olivia Plunkett (Haddonfield, N.J.) were five of the 24 winter student-athletes to be named to the team.

Miller, who earns her third consecutive Academic All-OAC honor, is a sociology major who carries a 3.65 GPA. Academically, she is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the German and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Societies. She was also the OAC Scholar Athlete of the Month for November. Athletically, she is a member of the school-record holding 400-yard freestyle relay and 800-yard freestyle relay teams and earned All-OAC honors as a member of the second-place 800 free relay team. Upon graduation, Miller will commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force and begin her six-year contract as a Combat Systems Officer. This season, she had a career-best in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.66.

Krupp, who garners her second straight Academic All-OAC accolade, is a pre-physical therapy major who carries a 3.67 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. She earned her All-OAC honor as a freshman with a third-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley. Krupp also holds school record in the 400 IM at the 2016 OAC Championships in a time of 4:45.46.

Clymer, who was named to her first Academic All-OAC team, is a biology major with a 3.80 GPA. A Dean's List student, she earned her All-OAC honors with a second place finish in the 1-meter, 11-dive event with a career-best 320.10 points. This season, Clymer also set career bests in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke; the 1-meter, 5-dive event; and the 1-meter, 6-dive event.

Gordnier, who earns her first Academic All-OAC honor, is an international studies major with a focus on national security who carries a perfect 4.0 GPA. She is a Dean's List student. This season, Gordnier set career bests in the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 1000-yard freestyle and 1650-yard freestyle.

Plunkett, who garners her first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a history major who carries a 3.66 GPA. A Dean's List student, Plunkett set career bests in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard individual medley and 400-yard individual medley.
