Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Fifth Straight with Victory Over Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team defeated Hiram College in a non-conference dual meet inside the Alumni Memorial Pool. 

BW (5-1), who won their fifth straight meet, defeated the Terriers (0-5) by a final score of 136-34.

The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore freestyler Allie Thorson (Amherst/Marion L. Steele) as she won the 800-meter freestyle and the 100-meter butterfly in times of 10:18.64 and 1:51.76. 

In addition, senior freestyler Lena Kortis (Canton/Massillon Perry) took first in a time of 2:31.61. Sophomore freestyler Jenna Ball (Salamanca, N.Y.) won the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 31.08 seconds.  Sophomore stroker Sarah Krupp (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) won the 200-meter individual medley in a time of 2:51.75. Senior freestyler Jordyn Miller (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) won the 100-meter freestyle in a time of 1:06.95. Freshman stroker Marissa Kural (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) won the 100-meter backstroke in a time of 1:16.89. Sophomore stroker Erika Nockengost (Cuyahoga Falls) won the 400-meter freestyle in a time of 5:13.93.

In relay action, the 200-meter medley relay team of sophomore stroker Alyssa Mahle (Aurora), sophomore stroker Ellie Clymer (Independence), Nockengost and Ball won in a time of 2:20.17.

BW is back in action on Saturday, November 18 when it travels to Alliance for an OAC dual against the University of Mount Union in the Hammond Natatorium at 1 p.m.
