Trzeciak and Minrovic Selected Academic All-OAC

BEREA, OHIO --Two Baldwin-Wallace College Men's Tennis student-athletes have been selected on this year's Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference teams. 
The four men's honorees are highlighted by senior 3-time Academic All-OAC pick and men's number one singles and doubles standout Alex Trzeciak (Avon Lake). Joining Trzeciak as an Academic All-OAC choice is sophomore men's tennis player Brad Minrovic (Akron/ Ellet).  This is the third straight year that Trzeciak has been selected and first for Minrovic.

Student-athletes are nominated and selected by the Faculty Athletics Representatives of each school.  To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.25 grade point average, be a starter or key reserve who has appeared in more than half of his/ her teams games/ events.

Trzeciak, who has a 3.7 grade average in mathematics and economics and will attend Washington (Mo) University for graduate school this fall, helped B-W win the OAC title and advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament as its number one singles and No.1 doubles player. He is a 2-time ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Scholar All-American, B-W's 2012 Clyde Lamb Scholar-Athlete Award winner and a 4-time first-team All-OAC selection who compiled an 87-22 singles and 82-28 doubles record. His 87 singles wins ranks second in school history, his 82 doubles wins are third and his 169 combination wins are second. This season, Trzeciak posted a 26-6 singles and 25-8 doubles mark. In the classroom, he is a member of three honors societies and was awarded the Toni and Max Dehn Prize in Mathematics. He also is a 2-rime CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District honoree.

Minrovic, who carries a 3.82 grade average in the pre-med and chemistry, also helped B-W to the OAC title, an NCAA tourney berth and a school-record 29 wins and 29-1 overall record. He split time at No.6 singles and No.3 doubles and compiled a 10-3 singles and 13-4 doubles record. After just two seasons, Minrovic has a 30-12 singles and 33-11 doubles mark, including a 20-7 singles and 20-7 doubles mark in 2010-11. In the classroom, he is member of two academic honor societies and a Jacket Scholar.  Minrovic's also is a 2012 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District selection.
