BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Katie Swanson played her first season of women's basketball at Baldwin Wallace University in 2014-2015. She earned her first varsity letter.

GENERAL BASKETBALL INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2014-2015, Katie played her first season of basketball and earned her first varsity letter. Despite missing the first 19 games due to an injury, one of BW's top recruits this season came off the bench in the final 10 games and scored 14 points, grabbed six rebounds, passed for two assists and made two steals. She scored a career-high five points at John Carroll University on February 11, 2015. BW finished 22-7 overall, won the BW Invitational title, captured the OAC Tournament title and earned a berth in the 2015 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Katie Swanson grew up in Elgin, Illinois and graduated from St. Edward Central Catholic High School.

Katie played volleyball and basketball. Overall, she was a nominee for the Elgin (Ill.) Daily-Herald Excellence Award.

In basketball, Katie earned All-Suburban Christian Conference honors, was named to the All-Area team and both the Elgin (Ill.) Daily-Herald and Elgin (Ill.) Courier-News All-Star teams. She also was a Player of the Week in the Daily-Herald.

In volleyball, Katie was named to the SCC team, was tabbed as one of the area's Top-15 players  in the Elgin (Ill.) Courier-News and mad.e the all-area teams.

Academically, Katie received the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Foundation Scholarship.

In addition to basketball, Katie was a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters for three years, Student Council for two and Studebts Against Drunk Driving (SADD) for one year.
