Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh at All-Ohio Championships

CEDARVILLE, Ohio –The Baldwin Wallace men's cross country team finished in seventh place at the annual All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
 
Division I, II and III as well as NAIA and Junior College teams all compete at the All-Ohio Championships with the top-35 runners in each division receiving All-Ohio honors.
 
BW finished seventh out of 18 Division III schools with 193 points and 21st out of 38 total teams. Ohio Northern University was the Division III men's champion with 56 points, placing seventh overall. 
 
Sophomore Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) led the way for the Yellow Jackets, earning his first career All-Ohio honors by placing 14th out of 144 Division III runners and 63rd out of 324 total runners with an 8k time of 26:15.4. Freshman Josh Hickmott (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool) also earned his first career All-Ohio honors, running a career-best 26:40.9 to finish 27th in Division III and 96th overall, improving on his previous career-best 8k time at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational by 2.7 seconds. 
 
Senior Brady Jeffers (South Amherst/Firelands) ran a career-best 26:54.5 to finish 40th and 119th overall. Sophomore Nick Irwin (Westlake) and junior Spencer Mahon (North Royalton) rounded out the Yellow Jackets top five. Irwin ran a time of 27:28.9 to finish 55th in Division III and 163rd overall while Mahon finished 63rd in Division III and 177th overall with a time of 27:45.9.
 
BW will have a week to recover and continue training before racing in the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College, on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oberlin College Cross Country Course.
