Men’s Soccer Tabbed Seventh in OAC Coaches Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was selected to finish in seventh place in the 2024 Ohio Athletic Conference Women's and Men's Soccer Polls.

BW, who was picked to eighth a season ago, was selected seventh with a total of 33 points.  Ohio Northern University was picked to win the league with 80 points and eight first place votes.  Otterbein University was selected second with 69 points and one first place vote.  Crosstown rival John Carroll University comes in at third with 67 points and one first place vote.  The University of Mount Union was tabbed in fourth place with 60 points.  Rounding out the top five was Capital University with 42 points.

The Yellow Jackets and veteran head coach Reid Ayers returns 16 letterwinners and eight Academic All-OAC honorees from last year's squad that finished with an overall record of 7-10-2 and an 3-5-1 mark in the OAC. 

BW opens the 2024 campaign on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 when it travels to Erie, Pennsylvania to compete in the annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament hosted by the University of Penn State at Behrend.  The Yellow Jackets take on Lycoming (Pa.) College in the opener on August 31.  BW will play in either the consolation or championship game on September 1.  

The home opener for the Yellow Jackets is on September 4 when they host a non-conference game against Geneva (Pa.) College.
