ACADEMIC MAJOR: Computer Science

BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETIC INFORMATION: As a sophomore in 2013-14, Jake played in one season of football as a freshman in 2012-13 and completed his second season of lacrosse. He earned his second varsity letter in lacrosse.

GENERAL LACROSSE INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2012-13, Jake completed his first season of lacrosse and earned his first varsity letter.  He appeared in all 11 games, including one start, for the 6-5 Yellow Jackets during their inaugural season, and was the primary midfielder on faceoffs.  Jake took 164 of the team's 247 faceoffs and won 101 for a .616 faceoff percentage.  He also tallied six goals and five assists for 11 points, led the team with 76 ground balls, and caused six turnovers.  Jake scored his first career goal and first-two career assists in a 9-14 loss against Hope (Mich.) College on March 2 in Pontiac, Mich., and scored a career-high two goals with one assist in a 21-12 win against Houghton (N.Y.) College on March 8 at Pinnacle Soccer Complex in Medina, Ohio.  He made his first career start in a 15-5 loss at Trine (Ind.) University on March 27.  In the season finale, a 20-11 win at Bethany (W.Va.) College on April 27, Jake scored a goal and registered an assist, collected a school single-game record 23 ground balls, and won a school single-game record 22 faceoffs.

As a sophomore in 2013-14, Jake competed in his second season of lacrosse at BW and earned his second letter in lacrosse. He played in all 14 games, including four starts for the 7-7 Yellow Jackets. He collected 34 ground balls, caused nine turnovers, had one assist, and was 45-91 on faceoffs.

As a junior in 2014-2015, Jake will play in his third season of lacrosse and look to earn his third varsity letter.

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Jake Opincar grew up in Middleburg Heights, Ohio and graduated from Padua Franciscan High School in Parma, Ohio.  He played four seasons of football and earned two varsity letters, played basketball for two seasons, and earned a pair of varsity letters in both his seasons of lacrosse.

As a junior in 2010-11, Jake was a second-team all-region honoree in football.  As a senior in 2011-12, Jake was a first-team All-North Coast League pick and was named second-team all-district and All-Sun in football.  He was also named first-team All-NCL and all-region in lacrosse.

ACADEMIC AWARDS AND HONORS:  Jake was a member of the honor roll in both ninth and tenth grade and a member of the high honor roll his junior and senior year.
