Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth at OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team closed out its season with a sixth-place finish at the 72-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Muskingum University at the River Greens Golf Course.

The OAC Championship featured 27 holes on the first two days of competition and a final 18 holes on the third and final day.  The top-14 finishers, including ties, receive All-OAC honors. 

BW was six of nine teams with a championship total of 1248 strokes on the par-73 and 6,866-yard River Greens layout.   Otterbein University was the champion for the fourth straight year and for the 20th time overall with a total of 1199 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Drake Tobias (Macedonia/Nordonia) as he finished eighth of 45 golfers to earn his first career All-OAC accolade. Tobias fired rounds of 76, 81, 75 and a career-low 73 for a championship total of 306. In fact, his 73 on the final day was the lowest score of any of the 45 players.

In addition, sophomore Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) carded rounds of 75, 79, 83 and f81 or a 72-hole total of 318.  Junior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) shot rounds of 79, 79, 76 and 85 for a four-round total of 319.  Sophomore Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) posted rounds of 76, 79, 76 and 88 for a tournament total of 319. Freshman Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) rounded out the BW championship roster as he had rounds of 89, 84, 79 and 79 for a total of 331.
