BW Men’s Golfers Capture River Greens Classic

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The defending Ohio Athletic Conference Champion Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team captured the River Greens Classic hosted by John Carroll University.

The Yellow Jackets fired a round of 304 on the par-72 and 6,600-yard River Greens Golf Club layout. BW defeated John Carroll for the title while California University of Pennsylvania competed as a club team.

Defending OAC medalist and senior Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) led the Yellow Jackets as he shot a career-low round at River Greens Golf Club of 73.  Sophomores Scott Schroeder (Aurora) and Matt Kershner (Independence) were second with rounds of 76.   Sophomore Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/Christian Community School) was fourth with a 79.  Senior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/Medina Highland) rounded out the starting five with an 83.

Playing as individuals, senior Andy Ingram (Vermilion) fired an 81, sophomore Austin Griffith (Barberton) shot 83 and freshman Dennis Millgard (North Ridgeville) had an 88.

BW is back in action on Saturday and Sunday September 27 and 28th when it travels to Alliance to compete in the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.   The Yellow Jackets close out the fall portion of its scheduled on October 5 and 6 when it travels to Mount Vernon to compete in the Kenyon College Fall Invitational at the Mount Vernon Country Club.
