ACADEMIC MAJOR: Accounting and Finance

ACADEMIC HONORS: As a junior in 2012-2013, Cory was named Academic All-OAC and inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Athletics Honor Society.  

As a redshirt junior in 2013-2014, Cory earned Academic All-OAC for his second time. He also is a Dean's List student who carries a 3.54 grade point average and a Jacket Scholar.

ATHLETIC HONORS: As a freshman in 2009-2010, Cory received the Most Outstanding Freshman Award, which is decided on by his teammates. As a red-shirt junior in 2013-2014, Cory earned Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors on April 7, 2014.

As a redshirt junior in 2013-2014, Cory earned second-team All-OAC and also was a third-team 2014 D3Baseball.com All-Mideast Region.

BASEBALL INFORMATION:   Cory Waite played in his fourth season of baseball at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014. He earned his third varsity letter.

As a freshman in 2010-2011, Cory competed in his first season of baseball and earned his first varsity letter. He appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen and compiled a 0-0 record with one save, a 2.70 earned run average (ERA) and 13 strikeouts in 16 and two thirds innings. For his efforts, he earned the Freshman of the Year award as voted on by the players. B-W finished 17-17 overall.

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Cory played in his second season of baseball and earned his second letter. He tied B-W's single-season appearances record with 18 (broken a year later by teammate Dylan Fodor). He compiled a 0-0 record with a save and a 1.66 earned run average and struck out 18 batters in 21 and two-thirds innings pitched. Cory helped B-W win 27 games to finish 27-13 overall.

As a junior in 2012-2013, Cory played his third season of baseball and was injured and had to miss the rest of the season. He may receive a medical red-shirt.  Cory appeared in six games, including four starts, and compiled a 1-2 record with a 5.87 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 15 and one-third innings pitched. BW again won 27 games  to finish 27-13 overall.

As a red-shirt junior in 2013-2014, Cory is playing his fourth season of baseball and earned his third varsity letter. Cory appeared in 20 games, including 11 starts and pitched 84 and two-third innings. He had a 7-3 record with a 3.51 ERA which was second on the team. He allowed 33 earned runs, struck out 42 and held his opponents to a .240 batting average. Cory also pitched two complete games and one shutout. The ace of the pitching staff earned second-team All-OAC and also was a third-team 2014 D3Baseball.com All-Mideast Region. He helped BW to win a single-season school-record 30 games, compile a 30-20 record, win the Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional and advance to the school's first-ever Division III World Series.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Cory Waite grew up in Willoughby, Ohio and graduated from Willoughby South High School.

He played baseball for four years and earned two varsity letters.  He also played football, wrestled and ran cross country for one season each, but did not earn a letter.

In baseball as a senior, Cory was named to the Greater Cleveland All-Star team and was selected as a Lake County News-Herald Player of the Week.

In the classroom, Cory was on the Honor roll and was Student of the Month. He also received the Willoughby Baseball Scholarship and the Eaton Family Credit Union Scholarship.
