Buckhannon Garners OAC Field Athlete of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) has been named OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and the third time in her career.

At the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, Buckhannon was the runner-up in the hammer throw with a career-best mark of 168 feet, 11 inches, which is currently the eighth-best mark in NCAA Division III. The junior also added a third-place finish in the shot put when she hit a career-best toss of 43'1.5" and an eighth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 130'1".

For her career in the outdoor season, Buckhannon has three All-Ohio honors, two All-OAC accolades and an United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region honor.

BW will host its first outdoor meet on Saturday, April 20, for the 50th Sparky Adams Invitational, beginning at 10:30 a.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
