Brennan, Buckhannon Sweep Weekly OAC Track and Field Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior outdoor All-American distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) and junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) swept the OAC Women's Track and Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Brennan receives the honor for the second consecutive week and her third overall while Buckhannon notches her third career accolade and the first of the season.

At the Buckeye Tune Up on Friday, Brennan won the 800-meter run in a school-record time of 2:14.03, improving on the previous school record by just 0.04 seconds. The time currently ranks eighth in NCAA Division III.

Meanwhile, Buckhannon swept the throwing events at the Raider Tune Up for the first time this season. She won the shot put with a season-best mark of 41 feet, 5.75 inches and then followed it up with a career-best mark of 53'2" to win the weight throw. Buckhannon's shot put mark comes in 35th nationally while the weight throw toss ranks 19th. 

BW will next compete on Friday, Feb. 22, on the first day of the 2019 OAC Indoor Championships, hosted by Ohio Northern University inside the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.
