BEREA, OHIO – The defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team won a pair of non-conference matches today (Saturday, September 15, 2012) to open the fall portion of its schedule. Both matches were played in Pennsylvania.
BW defeated Thiel (Pa.) College by a final score of 9-0 and defeated Penn State-Behrend, 8-1. The Yellow Jackets are now 2-0.
In singles play against Thiel, sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference standout Kyle Patterson (Wooster/Triway) won 6-1 and 6-2 at No.1, senior All-OAC standout Joe Horvath (North Royalton) won 6-0 and 6-0 at No.2, freshman Peter Harris (Akron/Revere) won 6-0 and 6-0 at No.3, senior Alexander Kearney(North Olmsted) won 6-0 and 6-1 at No.4, freshman No.5 player Doug Ganim (Olentangy/Orange) won 6-1 and 6-0 and junior Dan Rowsey (Ashland) won at No.6 by the score of 6-0 and 6-0.
In doubles action, the No.1 duo of Patterson and Horvath won by an 8-1 score, the No. 2 tandem of Ganim and Harris won by a score of 8-0 and the No.3 team of Rowsey and junior Zach Elbin (Ashland) won by an 8-2 score.

Horvath's victories today were his 71st and 72nd of his career and he improved to 72-8 overall.
