BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Kyle Chontos ended a brilliant four-year baseball career at Baldwin Wallace University in the spring of 2015. The 2014 NCAA Division III All-American is arguably one of the best to ever play the sport at the University.

STEINGASS AWARD/ OUTSTANDING SENIOR MALE ATHLETE:  As a senior in 2014-2015, Kyle was named as the Kenneth Steingass Award-winner, which is symbolic of BW's Most Outstanding Male Athlete.

ATHLETIC HONORS: As a freshman in 2011-2012, Kyle was named as a second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection. Kyle also received the Most Outstanding Freshman Award and the Big Stick Award, as decided on by the B-W coaching staff.

As a junior in 2013-2014, Kyle earned second-team Division III All-American honors by the ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association)/ Rawlings team and honorable mention All-America accolades by the D3Baseball.com web site. He also was a second-team All-Mideast Region pick by the ABCA/ Rawlings and D3Baseball.com, a first-team All-OAC choice and named to the all-tournament team at the Mid-Atlantic Regional.

As a senior in 2014-2015, Kyle was a concensus preseason Div. III All-American. He earned first-team All-OAC honors. He also was BW's Co-Yellow Jacket Award winner.

SCHOOL RECORDS:   Kyle owns school career records for games played, games started, at-bats, runs scored, base hits, singles, doubles, runs batted-in and putouts. He owns single season records for games played (50 in 2014), doubles (19 in 2014) and putouts (404 in 2014).

GENERAL BASEBALL INFORMATION: Kyle started for four years at either first base, in the outfield or as the designated hitter. He helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 115-58 record, advance to two OAC tournaments and earn a pair of NCAA Division III National Tournament berths, including the Mid-Atlantic Regional title and the school's first-ever NCAA Division III College World Series appearance.

Individually, Kyle owns multiple season and career records (see above) and earned multiple honors (also see above). He played in 173 games, including 172 starts, and batted .343 (226-for-658) with 158 runs scored, 56 doubles, four triples, 13 home runs, 154 runs batted-in (RBI) and 42 stolen bases. He also had a .500 slugging average, a .438 on-base average and a .987 fielding average.

As a freshman in 2011-2012, Kyle played in his first season of baseball and earned his first varsity letter. He played and started all 40 games and batted .353 (54-for-153) with a team-leading four home runs and 37 runs batted-in (RBI). He also scored 42 runs and had 14 doubles, one triple and six stolen bases in seven attempts. Kyle earned second-team All-OAC honors, was named as the Most Outstanding Freshman and the Big Stick Award winner. BW won 27 games and was 27-13 overall.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Kyle played his second season of baseball and earned his second letter.  He played in 40 games, including 39 starts, and batted .298 (39-of-131) with 26 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, one home run, 30 RBI and 11 steals in 14 attempts.  He helped BW wins 27 games and compile a 27-13 overall record.  

As a junior in 2013-2014, Kyle played his third season of baseball and earned his third letter. He played in and started all 50 games and batted .370 (74-for-200) with 47 runs scored, a single-season school-record 19 doubles, one triple, team-high totals of five homers and 50 RBI, and stole 13 bases in 14 attempts. Kyle was a second-team ABCA/ Rawlings and an honorable mention D3Baseball.com Division III All-American, a second-team ABCA/ Rawlings and D3Baseball.com All-Mideast Region vhoice, a first-team All-OAC pick and was named to the Mid-Atlantic Regional all-tournament team. He helped BW to win a single-season school-record 30 games, compile a 30-20 record, win the Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional and advance to the school's first-ever Division III World Series.

As a senior in 2014-2015, Kyle played his fourth season of baseball and earned his fourth letter. He was a concensus Div. III preseason All-American at 1B. He earned first-team All-OAC honors. Kyle played started all 43 games and batted .339 (59-for-174) with 43 runs scored, 14 doubles, one triple, three homers, 37 RBI and 12 steals. BW finished with a school-record 31 victories and a 31-12 record. The Yellow Jackets finished fourth at the OAC Tournament and advanced to their second straight NCAA Division III Regional Tournament.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Kyle Chontos grew up in Pickerington, Ohio and graduated from Pickerington North High School.

Kyle played four years of baseball and earned two varsity letters.

In baseball as a senior, Kyle was named first-team All-Ohio, first-team All-Ohio Capital Conference and first-team All-Central District (Division I). He also was invited to play in the Mizuno Senior All-Star Series in Chillicothe for his outstanding play on the field. For Division I, he was tabbed first-team All-State selection as well. Statistically as a senior, Kyle batted .461 with two homeruns and 27 runs batted-in.
