ACADEMIC MAJOR:    English/ Creative Writing

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Alyssa Nieset is running her third season of cross country and track at Baldwin Wallace University in 2014-2015. She earned her first letter in cross country as a sophomore in 2013-2014 and hopes to earn her third letter in track this winter (indoor track) and spring (outdoor track).

ACADEMIC HONORS: Alyssa is a Dean's List student.

CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION:   As a freshman in 2012-2013, Alyssa ran her first season of cross country and received a certificate of participation. Her best race was at The College of Wooster Invitational where she completed the 4K race in 16:55.50 and placed 11th.

As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Alyssa ran her second season of cross country and earned her first varsity letter. She finished 162nd at the All-Ohio Meet with a time of 28:15.36, placed 68th at the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet in 26:04.3 and was 155th at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Meet in 25:30.0. 

As a junior in 2014-2015, Alyssa began running her third season of cross country, but an injury after the second meet sidelined her for the remainder of the season. Her best time was a 23:43.4 clocking at the Ohio Wesleyan University Meet where she placed 97th.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Alyssa grew up in Geneva, Ohio and graduated from Geneva High School.

Alyssa ran four years of cross country and earned four varsity letters and ran four seasons of track and earned four letters.

Alyssa earned first-team All-Northeastern Conference honors in cross country in 2008 and first-team All-Premier Conference honors in 2010. She was the Geneva H.S. Most Valuable Cross Country Runner from 2008-2011.

Academically, Alyssa was a Renaissance Award winner for four years.
