ACADEMIC MAJOR: English/ Creative Writing
GENERAL CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION: As a sophomore in 2013-14, Alyssa competed in her second season of cross country and earned her first varisty letter. She will also compete in her second season of track and field and look to earn her second varsity letter.
As a freshman in 2013-14, Alyssa competed in her first season of cross county and received a certificate of participation. Her best race as at The College of Wooster Invitational where she completed the 4K race in 16:55.50 and placed 11th of 51 total runners.
As a sophomore in 2013-14, Alyssa competed in her second season of cross country. Alyssa competed in the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships where she placed 162nd out of 230 runners with a time of 28:15.36. At the OAC Championship meet Alyssa ran a 26:04.3 which put her 68th of 137 runners. At the Great Lakes Region Championships, she finished 155th with a time of 25:30.0. She earned her first varsity letter.

HIGH SCHOOL BACKGROUND: Alyssa Nieset grew up in Geneva, Ohio and graduated from Geneva High School in 2012. She ran four seasons of both cross country and track and earned four varsity letters in each sport.
In 2008-2009, Alyssa earned first-team All-Northeastern Conference (NEC) honors in cross country. She also earned first-team All-Premier Athletic Conference (PAC) honors in XC in 2010. Alyssa was the Geneva H.S. Most Valuable Cross Country Runner from 2008-2011.
Academically, Alyssa was a Renaissance Award winner for four years.
