Kelsey Shewbridge finished her second year as an assistant coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2022.
Shewbridge is the founder, owner and head trainer at K Shew Initiatives, LLC: Equip Lacrosse. She also serves as the Director of Speed, Agility and Quickness and is a coach at Ohio Premier Lacrosse.
Shewbridge comes to BW after serving as an assistant coach at Kenyon College in 2018-19. While at Kenyon, she helped guide the team to a 13-5 overall record, a 6-2 mark in the NCAC and a quarterfinal appearance in the NCAC Tournament. She also improved the Ladies groundball statistics over 32 percent.
Prior to Kenyon, Shewbridge earned a Master of Arts English and served as an assistant coach at John Carroll University from 2016-18. She focused on teaching defensive skills and strategies. Shewbridge helped implement practice plans, evaluated player performances, assisted in recruitment and analyzed game film.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Mount Union. Shewbridge was a four-year letterwinner and team captain on three consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament championship teams. She advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament in 2015 as well as the second round on two other occasions. Shewbridge appeared and started in 70 career games. She tallied 22 goals and added 11 assists for 33 points on 32 shots on goal. Shewbridge also recorded 78 groundballs and caused 43 turnovers. She is a three-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC selection and an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Great Lakes Region second-team selection.
Shewbridge, a native of Medina, Ohio and a graduate of Medina High School, was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse and basketball.
