Julian Johnson-Millan

Julian Johnson-Millan enters his first season as an men's assistant cross country coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2024.

Johnson-Millan comes to BW after servings as graduate assistant track and field coach at Emporia State (Kan.) University the past two years.

While at Emporia State, he created and implemented training programs specific for student-athletes in the sprints and horizontal jumps.  Johnson-Millan guided three sprinters to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships as well as a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) champion in the 100-meter dash.  He assisted with running home meets and assisting the head coach in daily operations and also was a teaching assistant in health, physical education and recreation.

Johnson-Millan earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from California State University at Stanislaus and a master’s in health, physical education and coaching from Emporia State. 

As a student-athlete, he was a member of the 2018 Great Plains Athletic Conference Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championship teams while attending NAIA Doane (Neb.) University.  Johnson-Millan was a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team at Sacramento City (Calif.) College in 2019. In his final season at CSU Stanislaus, he earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) honors in the 400-meter.
