BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Stephen Spalding will play his fourth season of men's golf at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014.  He has earned three varsity letters and will be one of the top returning individuals in the Ohio Athletic Conference as both an All-OAC and two-time Academic All-OAC student-athlete. Stephen missed much of the 2012-2013 season with an injury and received a red-shirt fifth season of eligibility.

ACADEMIC HONORS AT BW:  Stephen earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors for the second straight year (2012 and 2013). He carries a 3.711 grade average, is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, and was honored at the 2011-2012 Student-Athlete & Faculty Recognition Luncheon for having the Highest Grade Point Average on the men's golf team. Stephen also is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

ATHLETICS HONORS:  As a junior in 2011-2012, Stephen placed fourth at the 2012 OAC Tournament and earned All-OAC honors. He also has been named as the OAC Men's Golfer of the Week three times.

GENERAL GOLF INFORMATION:    Stephen Spalding enters his red-shirt senior/ fifth season with a solid, 77.27 career stroke average in 34 tournaments and 67 rounds of 18 holes.  The All-OAC (2012) and Academic All-OAC (2012) student-athlete has carded a career-low of 71 on three separate occasions during his career.  Stephen also is a three-time OAC Men's Golfer of the Week honoree.

As a freshman in 2009-2010, Stephen played in his first season of golf and earned his first varsity letter. During the 2009 fall season, he played in three tournaments and six rounds and averaged 76.83 strokes per round. His best round came at the Ohio Wesleyan University Tournament when he shot a 74. During the 2010 spring season, Stephen played in six tournaments and 13 rounds and averaged 80.0 strokes per round with a best-round of 76 at the OAC Spring Invitational.

As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Stephen played his second season of golf and earned his second letter. During the 2010 fall season, he played in five events and nine rounds and averaged a team-low 76.0 strokes per round with a season-low of 74 at the Clarion (Pa.) University Tournament.  For his efforts on Sept. 13 he was named as the OAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career During the 2011 spring season, Stephen played in five tournaments and 11 rounds and averaged 77.55 strokes per round. His best round of 72 came on the first day of the Denison University Ted Barclay Tournament. It also was the lowest round of any B-W golfer that spring. 

As a junior in 2011-2012, Stephen played in his third year of golf and earned his third letter. During the fall 2011 season, he played in four tournaments and seven rounds and averaged 75.71 strokes. He tied for the season-low with even par and career-low 71 at the John Carroll University Pat Flowers Invitational at Shaker Heights Country Club. For his efforts, he was awarded the OAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the second time in his career. In the spring of 2012, Stephen earned medalist honors at the Denison Ted Barclay Tournament by firing rounds of 74 and a tourney-low-tying 72 for a two-day and 36-hole total of 146 strokes. He subsequently earned his third OAC Men's Golfer of the Week award. He played in seven tournaments and 14 total rounds and averaged 77.79 and tied his career-low of 71 at the OAC Tournament. At the OAC tourney, Stephen placed fourth individually and earned All-OAC honors. For his efforts academically, Stephen was named Academic All-OAC.

In the fall of 2012, Stephen began playing his fourth season of golf. He competed in four tournaments and seven rounds and averaged a team-low 76.71 strokes and tied his career-low of 71 at the JCU Tournament. Stephen did not compete in the spring season due to a back injury. Despite his injury, Stephen earned his second straight Academic All-OAC accolade.

As a red-shirt senior in 2013-2014, Stephen will complete his fourth season of golf. He is expected to be one of the top returning players in the OAC.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Stephen Spalding grew up in Stow, Ohio and attended Walsh Jesuit High School.  He played four seasons of golf and earned three varsity letters.

As a senior in 2008-2009, Stephen was the Walsh Jesuit Most Valuable Golfer.

Academically, Stephen earned High Honors all four years.
