Women’s Soccer Advances in OAC Tournament After Shootout Thriller Against Capital

BEREA, Ohio – The fifth-seeded Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team defeated fourth-seeded Capital University in a penalty kick shootout 5-4 after 110 minutes of scoreless play in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals on Purmont field inside Bernlohr Stadium.

BW (8-8-3) advances to the OAC Tournament Semifinals as they will travel to University Heights to face top-seeded and crosstown rival John Carroll University on Thursday, November 2 on Wasmer Field inside Don Shula Stadium at 7 pm. Capital (10-6-4) ends its season.

BW Leaders

  • Junior Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) had a total of nine saves on the night giving her a conference-leading 88 saves on the season
  • Senior Academic All-OAC midfielder Jillian Neal (Fairlawn/Copley) and senior All-OAC forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) led the way for the Yellow Jackets with three shots each

  • Senior forward Lexi Snider had a game-high nine shots
  • The Capital defense only allowed four shots on goal, all of which were saved by sophomore goalkeeper Liv Alford
