Wrestling Jumps to No. 6 in Latest NWCA Poll

MANHEIM, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team improved from seventh to sixth in the bi-weekly and ninth regular season NCAA Division III (February 24, 2020) rankings by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA). In addition, three Yellow Jacket wrestlers are ranked in the Top-10 of their respective weight classes. TEAM RANKINGS / INDIVIDUAL WEIGHT CLASS RANKINGS

Since the eighth poll on Feb. 10, the Yellow Jackets (14-3 overall, 5-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) have defeated West Liberty (W. Va.) University, 24-12, in a home dual match.

Individually, senior Division III All-American All-American, All-OAC and Academic All-OAC 133-pounder Charlie Nash (Norwalk) remains at No. 4 in his respective weight class. Nash is 27-6 this seasonr with six technical falls, three pins and two major decisions. He currently sits at No. 8 on BW's all-time career wins list with a 106-40 record.

Senior Division III All-American and two-time first-team All-OAC 197-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/ Richfield Revere) stayed at the No. 5 spot. This season, he carries a 26-4 record with eight pins, one technical fall, and four major decisions. For his career he has a 115-28 record to place fourth on BW's all-time career wins list.

Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC 149-pounder Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/ Elyria Catholic) is ranked sixth in Division III. This season, he is having his best campaign as a collegian with a 34-2 record with two pins, one technical fall and 14 major decisions. He tops the team with 130 takedowns. He enters this week's NCAA Div. III Central Region Tournament tied for 16th all-time with 92 victories and a 92-18 career mark.

BW is back in action this Friday, February, 28 when it travels to Adrian, Michigan for the 2020 NCAA Division III Central Region Championships. Matches are set to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday's action starts at 10:00 a.m. LIVE RESULTS HERE
