Wrestling Lands at No. 7 in Latest NWCA Poll

MANHEIM, Pa. – The four-time defending Ohio Athletic Conference Champion Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team landed at No. 7 in the seventh regular season National Wrestling Coaches Association Division lll poll.

BW (12-3 overall, 6-1 OAC), who was No. 8 in the last poll, jumps to No. 7 after a 4-0 week in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets started the week with a 21-13 over No. 22 John Carroll University on Tuesday. On Saturday BW defeated Otterbein University(37-10), Muskingum University(45-6), and Heidelberg University(31-6) at an OAC quad-meet.

After a week that saw him surpass 100 career victories, senior All-American and Academic All-OAC 141-pounder Charlie Nash (Norwalk) has moved up to the No. 4 spot in his respective weight class. Nash is 21-6 on the season and currently sits at No. 8 on BW's all-time career wins list with a record of 101-40.

Junior two-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC 149-pounder Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) lands at No. 5 in his respective weight class. Bleich is 28-2 on the year and owns a career mark of 87-18, good to tie at No. 19 on BW's career wins list.

Senior All-American and two-time All-OAC 197-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere) slides up two spots to No. 6. Lehman is 20-4 on the year and sits at No. 7 on BW's career wins list with 109 victories.

Wartburg (Iowa) College ranks at No. 1 with Augsburg (Minn.) University sitting at No. 2. Loras (Iowa) College was slated third with Wabash (Ind.) College and Coe (Iowa) College rounding out the top-five. The University of Mount Union was tabbed tenth and John Carroll, twenty-second.

BW will hit the mats next on Saturday February 8 for the 34th annual John Summa Invitational. Matches are set to begin at 10 a.m.
