Women’s Basketball Dancing into Fifth Consecutive and 18th NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament

INDIANDAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season Champion Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team will be dancing into its fifth straight and 18th NCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Tournament.

BW (20-6), who won its 11th OAC Regular Season title, earn an at-large bid, and will travel to New Platz, New York.  The Yellow Jackets will open the tournament against Trinity (Conn.) University, an at-large bid of out of the New England Small College Athletic Conference, on Friday, March 1.  The State University of New York at New Paltz, the champions of the State University of New York Athletic Conference and host, take on Penn State Harrisburg University, the champions of the United East Championship.   The winners of Friday's games advance to round of 32.  Game times have not yet been announced.

Junior All-OAC forward Bella Vaillant (Perrysburg) led the team in scoring with 10.3 points-per-contest and led the team and was tied for third in the OAC in rebounding with a career-best 7.8 rebound-per-game.

Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC guard/forward Caely Ressler (Napoleon), who was named to the 2024 OAC All-Tournament team, was second on the team with 9.0 points-per-contest, second with a career-high 7.2 rebounds-per-game and led the team in steals with a career-best 34.

Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAXC guard Emily Irwin (Pickerington/Pataskala Watkins Memorial) was third on the team in scoring with 8.0 points-per-game and led the team with a career-high 57 assists.

BW is joined in the national tournament by fellow OAC members Marietta College, who earned an at-large bid, and Ohio Northern University, who was the OAC Tournament Champion and earned the automatic bid.
