BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior softball second baseman Brittany Lightel (Tallmadge) ends her collegiate career just as she started it with being tabbed as an All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection.

Lightel, who was named to the honorable mention team at shortstop as a freshman, garners her second career All-OAC honor as she was selected to the honorable mention team at second base.

This season, Lightel appeared and started in all 37 games.  She had .292 batting average with career-highs in doubles with eight, homeruns, including her first career grand slam, with four and runs batted-in (RBIs) with 23.  Lightel also had career-bests in steals with six, putouts with 75 and fielding percentage with a .945.

For her career, she appeared in 149 games with 147 starts all in the infield.   Lightel had a career batting average of .300 with 130 hits, 20 doubles, one triple, five homeruns, 66 runs scored and 61 RBIs.   She also swiped 16 career bases and was only throw out on four occasions.  Lightel had 251 putouts and 219 assists for a career fielding percentage of .906.
 

Off the field, she is an outstanding student as she carries a 3.736 grade point average in special education. Lightel is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection and is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
