BEREA, Ohio – Five Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer players have received 2018 All-Ohio accolades from the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA), announced at the annual United Soccer Coaches convention.

Junior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) was tabbed to both the All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio first teams. Both freshman All-OAC defender Trevor Hamm (Strongsville) and junior midfielder Kurt Raney (Mentor) earned third-team All-Ohio honors while senior Academic All-OAC defender Jeremy Foust (Strongsville) and junior Academic All-OAC forward Joey Geither (Parma/Normandy) each landed on the Academic All-Ohio second team.

Being named to both teams this season, Ruple earns his third consecutive All-Ohio accolade and second career Academic All-Ohio honor. On the field, he was among the conference leaders in all offensive categories yet again. At the end of the regular season, his team-leading 14 goals, 10 assists and 38 points ranked him third in goals and second in assists and points, respectively. Ruple broke two school records during the course of the season – single season shots with 85 and career points with 105 – in addition to the two single-season records he holds from 2017.

For his career, Ruple has appeared in all 57 games with 56 starts and has recorded 41 goals, 23 assists and 105 points. He is just five goals and five assists away from breaking the all-time school records in those categories. Ruple was named OAC Freshman of the Year in 2016, OAC Forward of the Year in 2017 and has been selected to the All-OAC team every season.

Academically, Ruple carries a 3.92 GPA in accounting and is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection and a two-time Academic All-District 7 selection. He is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Hamm earns his first All-Ohio accolade after a solid freshman campaign that also saw him named to his first All-OAC team. He appeared in and started all 19 games on defense and took two shots on the offensive end. As part of a back line that featured two seniors and two freshman, Hamm stepped up and made big stops when necessary.

Raney also lands on his first All-Ohio team. Returning from injury a season ago, he appeared in and started all 19 games in the midfield while providing a boost on offense. Raney scored a career-high tying three goals and tied for third on the team with five assists and 11 points. In his two-year career, he has scored six goals and added 11 assists for a total of 23 points.

Tabbed as a second-team Academic All-Ohio selection for the second straight year, Foust is a psychology major who carries a 3.85 GPA. Academically, he is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, a member of the Psychology Club and Honors Program, a STEM Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. For his career, Foust appeared in 75 games and recorded two assists for two points.

Landing on his first Academic All-Ohio team, Geither is digital media and design: interactive design major who carries a 3.89 GPA. A Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar, he received the 2017 BW Academic Excellence Award for men's soccer by having the highest GPA on the team. For his career, Geither has appeared in 49 games and has recorded 10 goals and 11 assists for 31 points.

BW finished the 2018 season with a 7-10-2 overall record and a 2-6-1 mark in the OAC.
