Keeley and Nanosky Highlight All-OAC Men’s Lacrosse Honors, League-Best 11 Players Selected

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Trey Keeley and freshman attacker Jake Nanosky (Medina) have been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and the Rookie of the Year to lead an OAC-best 11 BW players on the All-OAC squad.

Keeley, who just completed his fourth season, earns his first Coach of the Year Award.  This season, he led the Yellow Jackets to their first outright OAC Regular Season title with an overall record of 13-2 and a 9-0 marking during conference play.  In his four seasons, Keeley has an overall record of 42-14 and a 23-3 slate in the OAC.  He has led the team to the OAC Tournament semifinals in three seasons and the championships game on two occasions.

Jake Nanosky, who was also named to the first-team, led the team and was second in the OAC with 39 goals.  He led the team and was tied for second in the conference in assists with 27 and was the team leader and ranked third in the league with 66 points.  Jake Nanosky set the freshman school-record for goals, assists and points. 

In addition to Jake Nanosky, BW was represented on the first-team by sophomore midfielder Jonas Aquilla (Westlake/St. Edward), sophomore attacker/midfielder Kyle Byerly (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), sophomore defender Neil Randall (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Palos Verdes) and sophomore goalkeeper Joe Storner (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier).

Aquilla, who earns his first honor, played in 13 games and recorded 17 ground balls, caused nine turnovers and scored one goal.  In his two season, Aquilla has played in 19 games and has tallied 24 ground balls, caused 10 turnovers and scored one goal.

Byerly, who garners his first accolade, played in all 15 games and was fifth on the team in goals scored with a career-high 17.  He was fifth on the team with a career-best 31 points and was fourth on the team with a career-high 14 assists.  Byerly also recorded career-bests in ground balls with 20 and caused turnovers with five. For his career, Byerly has played in 21 games and has tallied 43 points, 30 ground balls, 25 goals, 18 assists and six caused turnovers.

Randall, who earns his first honor, played in 13 games and recorded 29 grounds balls, 24 caused turnovers and scored one goal.  In two seasons, he has played in 19 games and has tallied 44 ground balls, 33 caused turnovers and two goals.

Storner, who garners his first accolade, played in all 15 games between the pipes and was fifth in the OAC with a career-high 145 saves.  He finished with a record of 12-2.  For his career, Storner has played in 21 games and has a record of 14-5 with 232 saves.

The second-team featured sophomore defender Adam Blose (Butler, Pa./Butler Area), freshman attacker Gunner MacMillan (Henrietta, N.Y./Rush Henrietta) and freshman midfielder Trevor Stevens (Buffalo, N.Y. /Lancaster).

Blose, who earns his first honor, played in all 15 games and recorded career-highs in  ground balls with 48, caused turnovers with 15 and assists with one.  In his two seasons, Blose has played in 21 games and has tallied 46 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and one assist.

MacMillan, who garners his first accolade, played and started in all 15 games.  He was second on the team and third in the OAC in goals with 36. MacMillan was second on the team and ninth in the conference in points with 42. He also notched 19 ground balls, six assists and six caused turnovers.

Stevens, who earns his first honor, played in all 15 games and was fourth on the team in goals scored and points with 20 and 32, respectively. He was fifth on the team in assists with 12.  Stevens also recorded nine ground balls and one caused turnover.

The Yellow Jackets tabbed as honorable mention were senior midfielder Nick Nanosky (Medina), senior defender Matthew Rodenhouse (Pittsford, N.Y./Mendon) and sophomore midfielder Declan Tubbs (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls). 

Nick Nanosky, who garners his second accolade after being tabbed as honorable mention in 2019, played and started in all 15 games. He tallied 24 points, 16 goals, 14 ground balls, eight assists and one caused turnover.  In his career, Nick Nanosky played in 50 games and notched 73 points, 57 ground balls, 44 goals, 29 assists and caused 12 turnovers. Off the field, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. 

Rodenhouse, who earns his third honor after being selected honorable mention in 2019 and second-team in 2018, played and started in all 15 games.  He recorded a career-high 26 ground balls and a career-best tying five caused turnovers. For his career, Rodenhouse played in 45 games and tallied 71 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers. Off the field, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection and Dean's List student. 

Tubbs, who garners his first accolade, played in 11 games and notched career-highs in ground balls with 16, goals with one and a career-best tying one assist.  In his two seasons, Tubbs has appeared in 17 games and has recorded 23 ground balls, five caused turnovers two assists and one goal.
