Trey Keeley is entering his fourth season as the head coach of the Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team in 2020-21. In his first three seasons, he has led the Yellow Jackets to a 27-12 record.

The 2019 campaign saw Keeley and his Yellow Jackets finish with a 14-3 overall and 8-1 Ohio Athletic Conference record. The 14 victories tied the single-season school-record as did the 14-3 mark. He coached his first Division III All-American in graduated senior Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y.), who led all of Division III in assists and points per game and also was named as the OAC Offensive Player of the Year. Keeley also mentored seven All-OAC and nine Academic All-OAC selections.

In his first season, the Yellow Jackets were 11-5 overall and advanced to the OAC Championship Game. He also coached eight All-OAC performers and six Academic All-OAC selections.

"We have had two extremely successful seasons, and last season we stepped up our schedule against some very formidable opponents and did well," said Keeley, who came to BW after spending three years at Ohio Wesleyan University, two as an assistant coach and one as an associate head coach. "Each year, our goal is to win the OAC title and tournament, earn a berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament and ultimately win a national championship.

"We are looking for young men who are passionate about gaining a quality education at a quality school like Baldwin Wallace; love to play a very competitive brand of lacrosse, which the OAC certainly offers; and are passionate about the game of lacrosse and want to make an impact on the BW community."

While at Ohio Wesleyan, Keeley's main responsibilities included working as offensive coordinator, man-up coordinator, recruiting coordinator and assistant face-off coordinator. He helped to lead the program to a 42-11 overall record, including a North Coast Athletic Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2015. The Battling Bishops finished the 2015 season ranked third in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Final Coaches poll and were also ranked in the USILA Top 20 D3 Coaches Poll and the LaxMagazine Top 20 D3 Poll from 2015-17. Keeley graduated four USILA Scholar All-Americans, eight USILA All-Americans and the NCAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in 2015 during his three years on the staff.

Some of Keeley’s other duties at Ohio Wesleyan included assisting in all aspects of the program’s daily operations, academically mentoring student athletes in a three-step mentor program, designing branding and promotional items for recruiting and increased alumni involvement, teaching PE Activities 1034 “Beginner Strength and Conditioning” for the health and human kinetics department and serving as the NCAC’s assistant coach representative to the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA).

Before coming to Ohio Wesleyan, Keeley spent two years as a graduate assistant coach with Frostburg State University where he worked primarily as the assistant offensive coordinator, face-off coordinator, box coach, scouting and film analysis coordinator. The Bobcats compiled a 27-13 record during his two years as an assistant coach. In his first season in 2013, Frostburg was named the most improved lacrosse program in Division III by LaxPower.com. Keeley also helped lead the team to its first Capital Athletic Conference playoff appearance in 2013 and victory in 2014.

Outside of his collegiate coaching experiences, Keeley served as the local development officer for Hitchin Lacrosse Club in the English Lacrosse Association, where he organized, promoted and ran junior clubs, camps and tournaments for youth pop lacrosse. He founded 717 Lacrosse in central Pennsylvania and directed camps and clinics from March 2012 to July 2015. Starting in May 2016, Keeley has also been a camp director for the D3 Midwest Lacrosse Showcase.

As a collegiate athlete at Roanoke College, Keeley racked up 76 goals and 74 assists for 149 career points, including winning 60 percent of his career face offs. He was a two-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection (2010-11), a USILA Pre-Season All-American (2010), a two-time USILA All-American (2010-2011) and a USILA Scholar All-American (2011). His teams won two ODAC Championships in 2010 and 2011, made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 2009-2011 and made the NCAA Final Four in 2011.

Keeley received his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Roanoke College in 2011 and his Master of Business Administration from Frostburg State University in 2014.
