BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University junior cornerback and kick return specialist Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/ St. Ignatius) has been named as this week's NCAA Division III OhioCollegeFootball.com (www.ohiocollegefootball.com) Special Teams Player-of-the-Week.  He received the honor by virtue of his performance in a 45-13 victory against Bluffton University last Saturday, September 8 in Berea.

Johnson returned the second half kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown to mark his second career kick return for TD. He also was named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Special Teams Player-off-the-Week. He also had one tackle and a pass breakup on defense.

Last spring, Johnson earned NCAA Division III All-America honors as a member of the Yellow Jackets' fifth-place 4 x 100-meter relay team at the national meet. He also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash and was a member of the OAC-champion 4 x 100-meter relay squad.

This Saturday, the Yellow Jackets travel to University Heights to play OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the 24th Annual Battle for the Cuyahoga Gold Bowl Trophy (BW leads that series, 12-11). The game will kickoff at Don Shula Stadium at 6:00 p.m. with BW leading the all-time series, 24-23-4, including a 45-37 win in Berea a year ago.
