Three Football Student-Athletes Picked to Preseason All-Ohio Team

BEREA, OHIO --  Three Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes, junior wide receiver/ kick return specialist Josiah Holt (Elyria/ Grafton Midview), senior running back Tyler Lohr (Kent/ Roosevelt) and senior offensive tackle Clay Wolf (Parma Heights/ Padua Fransiscan), have been chosen to the 2012 Ohio College Football.com Preseason All-Ohio teams (announced today, Monday, August 13).

Holt was a first-team selection and both Lohr and Wolf were second-team choices.

Holt earned first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors in 2011 as he led the Yellow Jackets in receiving with 23 catches for 245 yards and two touchdowns, ran the ball eight times for 51 yards and a TD and was one of the leading kick return specialists in Division III by averaging 30.7 yards in 11 returns, including running two back for TD.  He has three kick return TDs in his first two years.

Lohr earned first-team All-OAC accolades last season when he led BW In rushing with 924 yards in 190 attempts with seven TDs and caught five passes for 28 more yards. Wolf was a key to Holt and Lohr's successes with his blocking. He was a key member of an offensive line that helped the Yellow Jackets average 30.2 points and 370.1 yards of offense per game.

Holt, Lohr and Wolf are three of 33 lettermen and 11 starters who return to a Yellow Jacket program that finished 8-2 a year ago and has a 15-5 mark the past two years. BW ended last season ranked No.23 in the final d3football.com Division III poll (www.d3football.com) and enter the 2012 campaign ranked 19th in the same poll. BW also was picked to finish second in both the OAC Coaches and Media polls at the August 8 OAC Media Day (see related story at http://www.bw.edu/athletics/fb/features/1112/2012mediaday/).

Preseason camp opens on Wednesday, August 15.  BW opens its season on September 8 versus Bluffton University on Family and Community Night in Berea. The Yellow Jackets open OAC play on Sept. 15 versus Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the battle for the Cuyahoga Gold Bowl trophy in University Heights at 6:00 p.m.  Both games will be televised by SportsTime Ohio (www.sportstimeohio.com).
