Outdoor Track and Field Teams Picked to Finish Fifth and Sixth in OAC Coaches Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's and men's outdoor track and field teams have been picked to finish fifth and sixth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Coaches Preseason Polls.

In the women's poll, BW was picked to finish fifth with 47 points. The University of Mount Union was picked to finish first with 80 points and eight first place votes and Ohio Northern University finished second with 73 and two first place votes. Otterbein University sits in third with 66 points and John Carroll University finished fourth with 56 points.

In the men's poll, the Yellow Jackets were picked to finish sixth with 41 points. Mount Union sits atop of the poll with 81 points and nine first place votes and Ohio Northern finished second with 73 votes and one first place vote. Otterbein and John Carroll tied for third with 61 points each and Heidelberg University was picked fourth with 44 points.

Second-year Head Coach Matt Cole, returns 12 women's letterwinners and 15 men from last year's squad. The women's and men's teams both finished fourth at the OAC Championships a season ago.

BW begins the outdoor portion of the season on Saturday, March 18 when it travels to Terre Haute, Indiana for the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Early Bird Invitational inside the William Welch Complex.
