Women's Tennis Defeats Capital, Seals First Season Victory

COLUMBUS, Ohio - AFter a 9-0 sweep of Capital University, the Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team began Ohio Athletic Conference play with their first victory on the season at the Scarborough East Tennis Club. 

Securing the first doubles match for BW (1-9), by a score of 8-5 was the sophomore duo of Jayde Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative & Performing Arts) and Ashtyn Morris (Salem). Second doubles was won by the team of seniors two-time All-OAC Imani Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative & Performing Arts) and Kathleen Moser (Strongsville), with a score of 8-4.  Junior Becca Liebler (Medina) and sophomore Emma Hubbard (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon High School) wrapped up the third doubles match with an 8-4 score. 

Jayde Robinson got singles started with scores of 6-4, 6-0 and Morris followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Imani Robinson seized her singles match with consecutive 6-4's and Moser won fourth singles by way of 6-1 and 6-4. Liebler decided the fifth singles with back-to-back 6-0 scores. Hubbard closed the sixth set with a 7-4 score in the tie-breaker match of set one, and a 6-4 set two score. 

The Yellow Jackets continue OAC play by welcoming John Carroll University to Pop Collins Tennis Courts on Wednesday, April 3 at 3:30 p.m.
