KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Baldwin Wallace University senior four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson) has been selected to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-America Team.

Named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Great Lakes Region first team just a few days ago, Bender earns the first All-America honor of her career as she landed on the third team. She joins defender Kelly Gough as the only other All-American in program history after Gough was also named to the third team in 2016. Bender is one of two OAC women's soccer student-athletes to be named to this year's team.

The senior led both the Yellow Jackets and the OAC in most offensive categories once again with her 143 shots, 16 assists and 44 points topping the conference standings while her team-leading 14 goals tied for third in the OAC. Bender capped off her four-year career with 60 goals, 37 assists, 157 points and 18 game-winning goals. She will graduate with the school's single-season and career assist records and will finish second all-time in career goals and career points scored.

Other career accolades for Bender include four All-OAC first team selections, two OAC Forward of the Year awards, two OAC All-Tournament Team selections, three OAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors, three Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) All-Ohio selections and two Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament Most Valuable Player awards.

Academically, Bender is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection, a two-time OCSA Academic All-Ohio selection, a three-time Academic All-District 7 honoree and a 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America selection.

BW finished the 2018 campaign with an 11-7-1 record and a 5-4 mark in the conference, advancing to the OAC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season.
