AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Senior forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson) highlights the Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer All-Ohio Athletic Conference selections as she was named OAC Forward of the Year in addition to her fourth straight first-team honor.
Along with Bender, sophomore midfielder Kayla Webb (Brunswick) was tabbed to the second team while sophomore defender Morgan Gray (Dublin/Scioto) earned an honorable mention selection.
Named Co-Forward of the Year in 2017 with John Carroll University's Bailey Fischer, Bender earns the award outright this season after once again leading the team and the OAC in most offensive categories. Her team-high 143 shots, 16 assists and 44 points topped the conference standings and her team-leading 14 goals tied for third in the OAC. Bender capped off her four-year career with 60 goals, 37 assists, 157 points and 18 game-winning goals. She will graduate with the school's single-season and career assist records and finished second all-time in career goals and career points scored. The communications sciences and disorders major, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American will earn her fourth varsity letter this fall.
Webb garners her first All-OAC honor this season as she landed on the second team. In just her second collegiate season, she posted career-high numbers of five goals and 10 points to finish second and third on the team, respectively. In her career, Webb has appeared in all 38 games with 24 starts and has scored seven goals for 14 points. The early childhood education major and Dean's List student will earn her second varsity letter this fall.
Gray also earns her first All-OAC accolade with an honorable mention selection. Offensively, the sophomore posted career-best marks of three goals and six points, including two separate game-winning goals. Helping to solidify the Yellow Jacket defense as a middle back, Gray has made 31 appearances in her career with 19 starts and has recorded three goals and six points. The criminal justice major will earn her second varsity letter this fall.
BW finished the 2018 campaign with an 11-7-1 record and a 5-4 mark in the conference, advancing to the OAC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season.
