BEREA, Ohio --  Baldwin Wallace University freshman midfielder Sierra Thomas (Medina) is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week. 

Thomas earned her award for scoring a school-record five goals and grabbing eight ground balls as the Yellow Jacket women's lacrosse team defeated Lourdes University, 19-1, in its season-opener on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium.

A year ago, Thomas was a first-team high school All-American and a first-team All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio choice.

Thomas and the Yellow Jackets return to action this Wednesday, March 5 when they host NCAA Division II Ursuline University on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium at 6:00 p.m.  The game was moved from 7:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. due to impending inclement weather later that night.
