WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team ended its school-record 10-game winning streak as it lost its first Ohio Athletic Conference game with a 14-13 defeat to Otterbein University at Clements Field.

During its 10-game winning streak, BW (11-3, 1-1 OAC) outscored its opponents 183-69. Otterbein (9-3, 1-0 OAC) scored five unanswered goals late in the second half to capture its first-ever OAC victory.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior attack Victoria Budzyn (East Aurora, N.Y.) and freshmen midfielders Sierra Thomas (Medina) and Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River) with three goals apiece.  Senior attack Colleen Bodkin (East Aurora, N.Y.) added two goals.  Freshman midfielder Katie Kocher (Rocky River) had a game and career-high seven assists and now has a team-best 40 on the season.

The Cardinals were led by Tory Blatt with a game-high four goals. Annie Kelly had three goals, including the game-winner, and added three assists. Courtney Hilfinger and Maria Blaszczyk each tallied two goals.

Otterbein took and early 1-0 lead when Tory Blatt scored on the free position shot with 28:43 remaining.   BW answered back with goals from Bodkin and Thomas both were assisted by Kocher to give BW the 2-1 lead at the 16:19 mark.   The Cardinals responded with three unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead on the third goal of the game for Blatt with 12:41 left.

The Yellow Jackets answered right back with four unanswered goals to take a 6-4 lead on the goal from Thomas at the 5:16 mark.   Otterbein added another goal and Thomas scored her third to end the first half with the Yellow Jackets leading 7-5 at the intermission.

The Cardinals opened the second by scoring three goals to take an 8-7 lead on the goal by Kelly with 26:15 remaining.  BW responded with six unanswered goals to take a 13-9 lead on the goal by Budzyn off the assist from Kocher at the 9:05 mark.  Otterbein responded with five goals and Kelley scored the game-winning goal with 1:09 left in regulation.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action next Wednesday, April 23 when they host the University of Mount Union in the final regular season and OAC game on the Tressel Field at 7:30 p.m.  Fan can follow or watch all of the action at http://livestats.prestosports.com/baldwinwallace/
