Newsome Medalist; Women’s Golf Win John Carroll Fall Invitational

WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio - Sophomore Brooke Newsome (Clyde) and the Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team win the John Carroll Fall Invitational as it placed first out of six teams at Manakiki Golf Course. 

BW placed first of six teams with 364 strokes on the par 72, 6,643 Manakiki Golf Course layout. 

The top five leading BW:

  • Newsome wins the invitational with a round of 86. This is Newsome's second career win. 
  • Sophomore Lauren Neher (Norwalk / Edison) tied for third and posted a round of 89.
  • Freshman Alana Smith (Fremont / Ross) placed for seventh and tallied a round of 92
  • Sophomore Hannah Ogden (Poland/Poland Seminary) placed for 13th and carded a round of 97
  • Sophomore  Steph Neff (Seven Hills / Padua Franciscan) placed 19th with a round of 108

Playing as individuals:

  • Junior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) finished 21st and tallied a round of 113
  • Sophomore Lexy Kovach (Strongsville / Magnificat) tied for 23rd and carded a round of 116

BW will close out the fall portion of their schedule on Sunday, October 30th when it hosts the BW Fall Invitational at the Valley of the Eagles Golf Club in Elyria.
