Women's Golf Takes Ninth at Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team placed sixth at the Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville hosted by Allegheny College. 

BW finished ninth out of 10 teams with a two-day total of 739 strokes on the par 72 and 5,388 yard layout of Country Club of Meadville. Carnegie Mellon University took first place with 618 strokes.

The top five leading BW:

  • Freshman Alana Smith (Fremont / Ross) placed 35th and tallied rounds of 94 and 86 for a total of 180
  • Sophomore Brooke Newsome (Clyde) tied 37th and carded rounds of 94 and 89 with a total of 183
  • Sophomore Halle Kalaman (Tallmadge / Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) tied 41st with rounds of 91 and 96 total of 187
  • Sophomore Lauren Neher (Norwalk / Edison) tied for 45th and shot rounds of 96 and 93 for a total of 189.
  • Junior Academic All-OAC selection Kaitlynn Olak (Norwalk/St. Paul) placed 55th with rounds of 112 and 118 for a total of 230

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 1st when they travel to West Lafayette to compete in the OAC Fall Preview for a two-day event at the River Greens Golf Course.
