BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University veteran women's basketball head coach Cheri Harrer was inducted into the Hancock County Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 13.

Already a member of both the Crawford County Hall of Fame and the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, the Hancock Sports Hall of Fame recognized Harrer for her achievements as a former University of Findlay athlete and her current success as the BW head coach.

Having just wrapped up her 29th season at the helm, Harrer owns a 584-221 career record for a .725 winning percentage. Her teams have won at least 15 games for 27 consecutive seasons while also having notched 20 or more wins in 16 different seasons. A four-time Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, the Yellow Jackets have won eight Ohio Athletic Conference regular season titles and six conference tournament crowns under Harrer's leadership. In addition, BW has made 14 appearances at the NCAA Division III tournament, including this past season, and has advanced to five Sweet 16s and three Elite Eights.

Before coming to Berea, Harrer had stops at Bowling Green State University, Bluffton University and the University of Findlay – her alma mater. As a student-athlete, Harrer was a four-year starter and an National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Academic All-American. As a point guard, she led Findlay to conference, district and bi-district championships. Harrer also earned two letters in volleyball and three in track.

In addition to coaching basketball at BW, Harrer serves as the Senior Women's Administrator and is an associate professor in the Division of Health and Physical Education.
