BW Women's Basketball Student-Athletes Amanda Schroeder and Ali Stack Named Academic All-OAC
BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball senior student-athletes Amanda Schroeder (Columbus Grove) and Ali Stack (Vermilion/ Firelands) have been named as 2011 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference players.

Schroeder, who carries a 3.41 grade point average in pre-physical therapy and exercise science, is this year's OAC Women's Basketball Helen Ludwig Player of the Year, a three-time first-team All-OAC player as well as a two-time Academic All-OAC selection. She led the Yellow Jackets in scoring at 15.1 points-per-game and in steals with 37, blocked shots with 20, field goal shooting at 53.7 percent on 138-of-257 attempts, three-point shooting at 48.1% on 25-of-52 attempts and free throw shooting at 84.3% on 91-of-108 attempts.  She was second with 6.1 rebounds-per-game and third with 32 assists.

Schroeder became the 12th player in school history to surpass the 1,000 point mark when she scored seven points in a 56-41 victory against Alma (Mich.) College on November 19.  She was also named the Women's DIII News Player of the Month for December. She was named the OAC's Women's Basketball Player of the Week December 6 and 20. Schroeder's 1,374 career points ranks third all-time in BW history and led the Yellow Jackets to an 86-27 record with a pair of OAC titles and NCAA Division III National Tournament berths.


Stack, who carries a 3.64 GPA in pychology and communbication studies, is a four-year letterwinner and receiving her first Academic All-OAC honor. This season, she was a team captain and came off the bench to average 14.5 minutes per game. She led the team in free throw shooting at 89.5% on 34-of-38 attempts. Stackscored 3.3 ppg., grabbed 1.6 rpg. and had 20 assists, and 19 steals.

In addition top her with grade average, Stack is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
