WESTERVILLE, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University softball team under the direction of veteran head coach Tom Spencer have been selected to finish third in the Ohio Athletic Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll.

BW, who picked to finish tied for sixth a season ago and advanced to OAC Tournament Championship game, was third with 61 points.  Defending OAC Champion the University of Mount Union was selected first with 79 points with eight first place votes.  Marietta College was voted to finish second with 68 points.  Muskingum University and Ohio Northern University round out the top five as both were tabbed tied for fourth with 57 points and one first place vote.

Coach Spencer, who enters his 20th season in Berea and his 25th overall season, returns 12 letterwinner, four All-Ohio Athletic Conference players and two Academic All-OAC honorees from last year's squad that had an overall record of 28-16 and an OAC mark of 12-6.  

The Yellow Jackets open the 2024 season in The Golden State as it will play 12 games on its spring break trip against opponents from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  BW opens the trip with a non-conference doubleheader against Occidental College on March 3.

BW hosts its first of nine home doubleheaders on March 20 when it plays a non-conference doubleheader against Calvin (Mich.) University on the BW Softball Field at the Roehm Athletic Complex.
