Men's Cross Country Opens Season at Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2016 season at the unscored College of Wooster Invitational on the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course.

BW was led by junior Brady Jeffers (South Amherst/Firelands) was second of 17 runners in the 5k with a time of 19:03.2.  Freshman Issac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) was right behind Jeffers as he finished third in a time of 19:13.8.


In addition, freshman Shane Thatcher (Huron) was eighth in a time of 20:02.1 Sophomores Phil Spronz (Strongsville) and Spencer Mahon (North Royalton) tied for ninth in a time of 20:02.2.   Mahon and Spronz also ran in the 4-mile race and finished 16th and 17th in career-best times 23:41.5 and 23:41.6, respectively. 


The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 10 when they travel to Delaware to compete in the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational at Liberty Park.
