ACADEMIC MAJOR: Communications

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Cody Smith played four seasons of men's soccer at Baldwin Wallace University (2011-2014). The All-Ohio Athletic Conference standout earned four varsity letters.

ACADEMIC HONORS:  Cody carried a 3.71 grade point average, was a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. He also was a member of the Alpha Lambda and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies.

As a junior in 2013-2014 and senior in 2014-2015, Cody earned Academic All-OAC honors. 

ATHLETICS HONORS:   As a senior in 2014-2015, Cody was named honorable mention All-OAC. At the team's season-ending banquet, Cody was named as the BW Offensive Player of the Year.

GENERAL SOCCER INFORMATION:  Cody Smith played four seasons of soccer and earned four varsity letters. He was an All-OAC selection as a senior and an Acacemic All-OAC choice as a junior and senior. He played in 75 career games, took 87 shots, including 44 on-goal, scored 10 goals and added six assists for 26 career points.

As a freshman in 2011-2012, Cody played in his first season of soccer and earned his first varsity letter. He came off the bench as a forward to add spark to the offense.  He played in 21 games, took 14 shots, including eight on-goal, scored two goals and added one assist for five points. He helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 16-6 overall record and advance to the school's first-ever NCAA Division III National Tournament.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Cody competed in his second season of soccer and earned his second letter.  He saw time in all 17 matches, including eight starts, took 24 shots, including nine on-goal, and had three assists for three points. He helped BW compile a 7-6-4 record. 

As a junior in 2013-2014, Cody played his third season of soccer and earned his third letter. He competed in 16 games and started four games at forward. He took 18 shots, including 10 on-goal and scored three goals for six ponts. BW finished 7-11-3 overall.

As a senior in 2014-2015, Cody played his fourth season of soccer and earned his fourth varsity letter. He played and started all 21 games, ranked third with 31 shots taken, third with 17 shots on-goal, scored five goals and added two assists for 12 points. He had one game-winner. For his efforts on the field, Cody was named honorable mention All-OAC. For his efforts in the classroom, he received his second Academic All-OAC award. At the team's season-ending banquet, Cody was named as the BW Offensive Player of the Year. BW finished 10-10-1 overall.

INDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2011-2012, Cody competed in his first sesaon of indoor track and field and earned a varsity letter  He competed in the sprinting and hurdling events and had season bests in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.06 seconds, the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.31 seconds, the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.46 seconds, and the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.22 seconds.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Cody did not compete in indoor track.

GENERAL OUTDOOR TRACK INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2011-2012, Cody competed in his first season of outdoor track and field.  He competed in the 110-meter hurdles and posted a season-best time of 16.90.  Also, Cody competed in the 400-meter hurdles where he posted a time of 56.14 to place fifth at the OAC Outdoor Championship meet.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Cody did not compete in outdoor track.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Cody Smith grew up in Brunswick, Ohio and graduated from Brunswick High School.

Cody played four years of soccer and ran four seasons of track. He earned four varsity letters in soccer and three in track.

In soccer, Cody was named as an All-Northeast Ohio Conference performer as a junior and senior. Also as a senior, he was named to the All-Medina Gazette and All-Greater Cleveland Coaches Association teams. During his career, Cody scored 43 goals and had 31 assists for 117 career points.

In track, Cody was an All-NOC and All-Gazette performer as a junior and senior. His career-bests included 14.67 seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles, 38.97 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles and 49.77 seconds in the 400-meter dash.

Cody was named as the 2010-2011 Brunswick High School Athlete of the Year.

Academically, Cody was a two-year Academic Excellence Award winner and a six-time Scholar-Athlete.
