Murphy Crowned OAC Runner of the Year

WESTERVILLE, Ohio. – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference women's cross country runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named 2023's OAC Runner of the Year. Murphy, who earns her second OAC Runner of the Year Award, becomes the third BW women's cross-country runner to claim the honor two separate times since the award's inception back in 1999.

Murphy was BW's top runner this season. She qualified to compete at this year's 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School in Newille, Pa. While at the 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, Murphy placed 94th in the 6k run in a time of 22:26.6 as she concluded her junior season. She qualified for the national meet after finishing fifth at the Great Lakes Cross Country Regional Championships in Norton hosted by John Carroll University, where she had a career best 6k time of 20:53.83.

Murphy won the OAC Championship meet in Findlay in a time of 21:56.54.
