Murphy is the OAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for Second Straight Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the third time this season and for the second consecutive week,  Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named the OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week. 

Murphy garners her second straight, third of season and sixth of her career honor after finishing 26th of 366 runners at the NCAA Division III Pre-National Invitational hosted by Dickinson University at the Big Spring High School.   Murphy, who was the top OAC finisher and only one of two league runners to finish in the top 50, crossed the finish line in a 6K time of 22:36.9.   As a team, BW finished 24 of 40 teams.

Murphy, the 2021 OAC Women's Cross Country of the Year, has a career-best 5k time of 18:06.9, which she ran last year at the All-Ohio Championships and a career-best 6k of 21:42.6, which she ran in 2002 at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Championships.  She earned her previous two honors this season on September 5 and October 2 while her three previous accolades came last season on September 12, September 19, and October 17.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 28 when they travels to Findlay to compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University at the Hillcrest Golf Course.
