ALLIANCE, OHIO -- The 8th-ranked University of Mount Union wrestling team defeated Baldwin Wallace University, 37-6, tonight (Tuesday, February 15, 2011) in the final regular season match of the season.
With the loss, BW is now 11-9 overall and 4-2 in the OAC. With its victory, the Purple Raiders remained undefeated and improve to 14-0 overall and 6-0 in the OAC.
Despite the loss, senior 174-pounder Andrew Scavuzzo (Cuyahoga Falls/ Woodridge) pinned his opponent in 2:07. The pin gives Scavuzzo the team lead in pins with 17, passing senior 197-pounder Tristan Stoll (Milan/Edison) who has 16 pins on the season. Tonight's win improves Scavuzzo's overall record to 33-2.
The BW grapplers are back in action on Saturday, February 26 when they travel to Ada to compete in the 2011 OAC Wrestling Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. The first matches are slated to begin at 10:00 a.m.
