GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team faced Grove City (Pa.) College in the season opener for a non-conference contest on the Robert E. Thorn Field. The Yellow Jackets (1-0) outscored the Wolverines (0-2) 9-4 in the second half to earn the big season-opening win by a 14-8 final score.
BW was led by sophomore attack/midfielder Lily Tope (Delaware/Hayes) as she finished with a team-high five points, notching two goals and three assists. Sophomore attack Lauren Getchey (Perrysburg) totaled a career and team-high four goals. Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack Sophia Leuma (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson) also added four points with two goals and two assists.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, March 1 in the home opener and Commitment Day, hosting Ohio Wesleyan University. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. on the Tressel Field inside of the George Finnie Stadium.
